New site for Studio Output by London based Kleber. Eventhough I have the attention span of a 3 year old, I really like the slight chaotic structure and navigation.
As always, great and indepth interviews at over at Art of the Title. This time the focus is on Shadowplay Studio’s Gareth Smith and the title sequence for Up In the Air. Great read. As Always. And a nice bonus touch with the style frames. As always.
Rimantas Lukavicius and Echolab’s Gavin Little brings us their second collaboration for MTVHD. A beautiful CGI piece with an ambient stript down soundtrack.
Nice photage in this video by A Hard Days Work for Swedish music artist Johansson and fashion designer Heidi Nilausen from Beckmans Collage of Design. Fall in suburbian Stockholm. You can’t beat it..
Truly amazing illustrations by Tokyo born artist Yoko Furusho. Even though she’s working with a pretty earth toned palette, the images seems to spark with bright colors. Really impressive work.
When it comes to inspirational posting that’s always fresh and up-to-date, Cool Hunting is in a league of its own. The site’s been serving as an inspirational outlet since 2003 and what could be a better way to celebrate their seventh anniversary than to launch a total redesign of the site.
Brazilian born Vinicius Costa, art director and 3d wizard at 1stAveMachine launches his portfolio and it’s packed to the rim with colors that warms my cold winter self and imagery that got me thinking of the art and paintings of Salvador Dalí.
Be sure to also visit his Flickr page where he displays style frames and ‘behind the scenes’ photos from various project.
Adobe is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Photoshop this year. An app that have had such an impact on the way we work with digital imagery making it hard, if not even impossible to imagine where our industry been today without it. Now Adobe released a video documentary on the history of Photoshop since 1990 which includes interviews with founders John Knoll, Thomas Knoll, Russell Brown, and Steve Guttman.
Two new and beautiful spots from my favorite company of them all, Acne. Ensrettet directed these Black / White commercials for Absolut Vodka.
Postpanic delivers an awesome commercial for the new running shoe from Asics. Atmospheric and dreamesque.

Really slick site for MP Creative, advertising agency behind Japanese Vogue Homme, UNIQLO’s global campaigns including the very nice looking UNIQLO Paper. Web provided by Monolith NYC.

The Art of the Title Sequence just put another ‘behind the scenes’ interview online, this time breaking down Nexus 3D stop-motion masterpiece for Dutch science TV-show “Het Klokhuis”.
I really like the ‘Sculpture” piece that Elastique made for Mercedes Benz. Abstract yet mellow, working good with the ambient soundtrack.

I remember seeing Seven for the first time at the cinema, the “What the hell is happening” rush with jaws dropped to the floor when Kyle Cooper’s main title accompanied by the soundtrack of Nine Inch Nails ‘Closer’ kicked in. And I still remember thinking “Why the hell haven’t this been done before”. Now, close to 15 years later it has been done before. I’ve seen main titles so similar to Seven’s that I’ve actually been embarrassed for renting such a mediocre movie. It’s happened more than once. And I’m sure it will happen again. With the Seven main title, Kyle Cooper put a big fat spotlight on a field in design that went by pretty much unnoticed.
Forget the Film, Watch the Titles have a great video interview with Kyle Cooper on their site, the first part of two where he talks about his work, the process behind it and what he think makes a great title sequence, with the second part being released later this year.
Moderna Museet (The Modern Museum of Art) in Stockholm just opened a great exhibition this weekend showing New Jersey born artist Lee Lozario.
“Lee Lozano’s works bear traces of pop art, minimalism and conceptual art, the dominating trends of the 1960’s. However, she expressed herself in an entirely unique style. Originally, she worked with a figurative imagery dealing with aspects of the human body and the relationship between power, sexuality and violence. Eventually, her images became even more abstract – although still replete with stark ambiguities. Towards the end of the 1960s, she abandoned painting in favor of conceptual works, her so-called Language Pieces.”
I have to say that the exhibition is one of the best I’ve seen in a while, so if you happen to be in Stockholm you really shouldn’t miss this. The exhibition started last weekend and is open until 25 April.
Nice portfolio site of Swedish design duo Dizel & Sate, most know for their graffiti like walls.
